At this point, there is no human way that I could read even those books I've deliberately marked as absolute must-reads. [. .. ] This is every reader's catch-22: the more you read, the more you realize you haven't read; the more you yearn to read more, the more you understand that you have, in fact, read nothing Pamela Paul
About This Quote

As a writer, a lot of the time I feel like I don't have enough time to read everything that I want to. There is always something else that I need to do, and I'm often too busy to sit down and read for pleasure. That's why it makes me so happy when people tell me that they're reading more than they ever have before. It's also one of the reasons that I love paying attention to what other people are reading.

When I see that someone is reading more than they ever have before, it makes me happy because it means that there are opportunities for me to grow as a reader. However, there is always this feeling of sadness when I realize that someone has said "I've read nothing." That's because there are so many things to read. We only get so many hours in the day, and we only live for so long.

That means that everyone has the opportunity to read whatever they want if they're willing to work at it.
